The Sichuan University “The Belt and Road” scholarship is available to students from countries along stto the “The Belt and Road” region , as well as students from countries along the 21 Century Maritime Silk Road.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide international students the opportunity to experience China’s flourishing culture while obtaining or making progress on their degree,with a goal to promote cooperation,
inclusiveness and mutual understanding between China and other countries.

QUALIFICATION OF APPLICANTS WORKING TOWARDS THEIR BACHELOR’S
1. Non-Chinese citizens aged from 18 (inclusive) to 35 years old, who are physically healthy and hold a valid ordinary foreign passport;
2. For applicants who were Chinese citizens and became foreign citizens, the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating Work Related to the Acceptance of Foreign Students by Domestic Colleges and Universities (JWH [2020] No. 12) will apply.
3. Educational requirements: applicants should have obtained their high school diploma and demonstrated a good performance.
4. Language requirements:
Majors Taught in Chinese
– 180 grades or more for HSK5 or other equivalent certificates of Chinese proficiency accepted by the University;
– Applicants whose highest degree courses are taught in Chinese are exempted from submitting HSK Certificate, but shall provide a certification proving the language of teaching.
Majors Taught in English
– Applicants who are native English speakers are exempted from submitting the certificate of English language;
– Applicants who are non-native English speakers shall submit TOEFL (iBT) score (≥80)/IELTS score (≥6.0) or other equivalent certificates of English proficiency;
– Applicants who are non-native English speakers and whose highest degree courses are taught in English are exempted from submitting TOEFL score / IELTS score, but shall provide a certification proving the language of teaching.
QUALIFICATION OF APPLICANTS WORKING TOWARDS THEIR MASTER’S
1. Non-Chinese citizens aged from 18 to 40 years old, who are physically healthy and hold a valid ordinary foreign passport.
2. For applicants who were Chinese citizens and became foreign citizens, the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating Work Related to the Acceptance of Foreign Students by Domestic Colleges and Universities (JWH [2020] No. 12) will apply.
3. Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree or above.
4. Language requirements:
Majors Taught in Chinese
– Literature, Law, Economics, Management, History, Philosophy, Education, Art and other Liberal Arts Discipline applicants must get a grade of 180 or above on their HSK 5 examination or other equivalent certificates of Chinese proficiency accepted by the University; Science, Engineering,
Medicine and Agriculture Discipline applicants must also get a grade of 180 or above on their HSK 4 examination or other equivalent certificates of Chinese proficiency accepted by the University.
2- Applicants who are non-native English speakers shall submit TOEFL (iBT) score (≥80) /IELTS score (≥6.0) or other equivalent certificates of English proficiency as English language ability proofs (for English majors);
– Applicants who are non-native English speakers and whose highest degree courses are taught in English are exempted from submitting TOEFL score / IELTS score, but shall provide a certification proving the language of teaching.
Note: If any applicant is a student at school, the applicant must provide a pre-graduation certificate issued by his/her school. Any student who applies for admission by virtue of a pre-graduation certification must present the original pre-graduation certificate when registering at our school. Otherwise, the student will lose his/her admission qualification.

1. Non-Chinese citizens aged from 18 to 45 years old, who are physically healthy and hold a valid
ordinary foreign passport.
2. For applicants who were Chinese citizens and became foreign citizens, the Notice of the Ministry
of Education on Regulating Work Related to the Acceptance of Foreign Students by Domestic
Colleges and Universities (JWH [2020] No. 12) will apply.
